The Truth About Refinancing To Raise Money For Borderline Personality Disorder

A number of people have asked me questions about refinancing their home or taking out a second mortgage to help pay for the costs of Borderline Personality disorder.

Refinancing is basically taking out a new mortgage to replace an old one. This can work if you have a mortgage that you've been holding for a number of years (for instance, at least seven to ten years or more), but if you've only owned your home for a few years it may not help you all that much because you haven't yet built up a lot of equity in your home.

However, if you've owned your home for a number of years and you currently hold a mortgage at a fairly high interest rate, now is a pretty good time to consider either refinancing or taking out a second mortgage against the equity in your home because interest rates are at some of the lowest rates in years, meaning your monthly mortgage payments could be significantly lower than they are now.

I really don't want to get into all of the detailed the ins and outs of refinancing, because these will vary from situation to situation, but it is certainly worth considering if you have owned your home for more than seven years. I suggest that you visit five to ten company websites that focus on refinancing and get all the information you can. Make sure you check out one or more refinancing calculators to help you determine if refinancing will make financial sense for you.
